Hi Karen, That was a very motivational product. I would love to explore using it myself with elementary education. I think there are many ways to implement that technology to motivate even the most reluctive of learners. Debra Hanks # 9
"Magical" as Linden put it. Wow. I enjoy SL for PD and recognized the campfire situation highlighted behind your avatar. My favorite time in world was for a book talk about Brain Rules. We all had such fun and it made a lasting impression on me. Being able to personalize an avatar really helps with the social presence aspect involved in e-learning. I have attended speaker presentations in world while virtually relaxing in a beach chair sipping a very virgin margarita (Haha.) Thanks for sharing, ~Laurie
Karen-Wow! Very awesome. You really did well at selling the product and showing its capabilities from the very beginning of the video. Nice touch and good job. -Brandy
I thought I had posted to you about a week ago, but I don't see it. You did an amazing job. I knew very little amout using virtual worlds in education, but after seeing your video I would love to find to find out more. I really think that using this type of technology would engage students.
Karen, The virtual reality sequence of yourself is pretty neat. It would be fun to develop stories with my students in this format. I'll have to explore how to get this setup in our computer lab.
Karen, Great video! Smooth transitions. Using a virtual character to present the information was a great idea. You told us what how virtual worlds can be used, how to implement it was well as the problems that we can experience with implantation. I never thought of looking at virtual worlds before; I teach primary students it didn’t seem relevant. Hopefully I can get a chance to take a look at it over the summer break. Fantastic job!
Wow! Virtual worlds. I love it because the nature of the video is synonymous with the topic of the video. I am impressed with your creation of the virtual environment. I have no idea of to create avatars and virtual environment. It is something that I am interested in. Seeing your video made me think that it is possible. What program did you use? I especially liked the avatar of yourself.
